Hello Friends! I am so happy to have you here as we open up our home all ready for Christmas during this week’s Blogger Styling Home Tours hosted by the very sweet and talented Lindsay at The White Buffalo Styling Co.! Welcome to those of you who are visiting here from yesterday’s tour with Lucy at Craftberry Bush too!

bsht-christmas-2016-6

I am starting this humble tour at the back of our home in our sunroom… It is one of our most loved areas in the house and where we do our entertaining and time hanging out as a family.

(Felt ball garland, Rug, Driftwood Platter, Ruffle Pillow, Patterned Pillow, Cable Knit Throw)

We keep things pretty casual comfy here and Christmas in this room just makes the whole space more magical. Since you are looking from every wall of windows into the evergreens outside, the scene works specially together.

Pillows are tossed and ornaments are strewn to give a feeling or nudge towards relaxation. Lately, I have really been drawn to the simplicity of things and how textiles alone or textures draw the eye in.

bsht-christmas-2016-4

I wanted to coordinate a few pops of blue with the berries that were placed throughout the greenery and Christmas tree here.

bsht-christmas-2016-8

As you gander across from the sitting area you will see into our dining room. The tree can be found in the middle ground, that way it an be enjoyed from both ends of the sunroom.

(Rug, Garland, Rattan Chairs, Christmas Tree)

This year’s tree is filled with a variety of eucalyptus and greens. I fell in love with using eucalyptus earlier this fall and knew that I would have to have it for our tree as well.

Pinecones, berries, and dollar store ornaments fill up the branches and of course added a little bit of shine.

bsht-christmas-2016-18

I also decided to carry out that pop of blue through some organic hanging ribbon. It was such an inexpensive way to dress the tree up some more.

bsht-christmas-2016-11

Electric tea lights flicker on the wrapped presents giving off an ambience perfect for the season.

bshtchristmas201613

More greens adorn the chandelier and table top (chalk painted info here) – a place we will enjoy many Christmas goodies and feasts.

On the side of our dining table sits my grandmother’s sideboard where homemade stockings hang.

bshtchristmas201647

A little star is all the festivity this table needs and it feels just right.

When you leave our sunroom you will end up in our hardworking kitchen (here).

bshtchristmas201628

We love to enjoy and taste test all the baking that goes on and both kiddos absolutely treasure helping here any chance they get.

bshtchristmas201622

Plus they will never turn down an opportunity to help mama when sweets are involved ;)…

bshtchristmas201621

Fresh cut greens fill our simple farmhouse sink and lit candles make the space smell delightful.

bshtchristmas201623

Oh this kitchen is small but it is really special…

bshtchristmas201625

It warms my heart at all that we do here in this small spot between the coloring, the crafting, the homework and plenty of eating.

And as you leave our home you will exit through our front room that feels as though it is a sort of winter wonderland. A place to get warm and enjoy the glow of the snowy tree. This room serves as a guest room, office and a more formal living room so it works hard for our family.

bshtchristmas20168

Even though the decorating and the trees are such a beautiful part of this time of year it is the reason for the season that makes it so special. I am always reminded each year as we work hard to put our home together in celebration and anticipation.

I absolutely love sharing my heart with all of your through the spaces in our home and talking about our stories. Sometimes I have to pinch myself at these opportunities to be joining such wonderful, talented people and I am truly humbled that you come to visit.

    1. Judy thank you very much! This was actually a simple home depot fixture that we later spray painted to look like copper =). I shared a tutorial over on remodelaholic if you are interested!

  4. It’s all beautiful! I love your style! I’m looking for a new rug for my living room. I just recently purchased a jute style and I’m so disappointed. The fibers just shed all over my house and it drives me crazy! Plus it’s not the softest in the world for my little people. I need something soft and durable that doesn’t shed. Is that even possible?! Anyway, what size did you buy for your space? I’m still debating… thanks Annie!

    1. Hi Beth thank you so much for the kind words! Jute rugs can be tricky – we have been really happy with ours, but it does sit under the dining table so those things aren’t as noticeable as we just use chairs atop it ;)… We have a 9 x 12 so there is lots of space around the table and chairs. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Your home is so beautiful! Can I ask where you purchased the light fixture over your dining room table? Thank you, Deborah

    1. Deborah thank you very much! I found this at our local ReStore, but I believe it is a Pottery Barn model that is still available in store today =)…

  6. Your Christmas styling is so beautiful! I love the Tree so much I want to marry it. Good job. So worth the hard work!
