DIY Post, Pom Garland

IMG_0030.jpg
This project was simple and what I like most about it is that you can use this decoration throughout the fall into the winter.  It has texture and gives a cozy feeling wherever you place it. There are great Pom tutorials out there and I used one from the blog – in my own style, here is the one I used for this project.  Like most of my projects these days it was inexpensive too.  I used yarn I already had laying around, but even if you were to buy it there are great deals on yarn.

Here is what you will need for the garland-

-scissors
– about 20 finished poms
– 9 pieces of yarn that measure about 10 feet each ( this will be used for the braided rope portion of your garland).

Take your 9 pieces of long yarn and divide them into three groups.  As pictured below tie a double not and then braid the entire length.  This will take some time but it is easy.  Double knot the opposite end once you are done braiding.

Using the two long ends of the pom (pictured below) tie each pom onto the braided yarn about 6 inches apart.  I just did double knots again and cut off the excess.

That is it!  Again, easy/inexpensive and really adds some nice visual interest to the space you are decorating.  I hope you try it out and let me know what you think!  Thanks for stopping by!
