Fall into Home with a Neutral and Warm Tour

Ok friends fall is practically arrived and I am thrilled to start sharing our home with you all dressed for this cozy season! If you are heading here from my incredibly talented friend Rachel over at Shades of Blue Interiors… welcome! Today is that start of the Fall Into Home tours hosted by the very sweet Rachel at Masion de Pax. This tour is neutral in theme, warm and inviting… so please come on in!

I hope to share a couple tips/tricks with you along the way so that this little look into our home is helpful or inspiring as well!

You will find yourself here in our dining room of big windows. This is a sunroom so the natural light is really lovely throughout the different seasons.

The outdoors are easily visible from these windows, but in any room of our home I like to bring the outdoors in with plants, flowers and produce. Clearly I have done my job here in making a cozy space as Wyatt couldn’t resist sleeping in his favorite chair, haha.

Back to my first tip about using the outdoors in, simplicity can do wonders in this situation. As seen here with draping amaranthus and sugar pumpkins.

In fact, we recently added this blue rug and large rubber plant throughout the early summer and I wasn’t ready to change them out. So I chose to incorporate what was already there.

I made the blue feel ready for fall by using warm and earthy colors. This instantly made the space feel rich and moody (but moody in a good way ;).

Now you’ll take a quick hop (or step, whichever you prefer) over to our kitchen. In all seriousness, we have this silly half step between the kitchen and dining room. Any time new guests come over to visit we have to repeatedly warn friends to watch their footing as the step is sneaky. Let’s just say we had a few falls our first few months here, lol.

Get creative and try something other than flower arrangements throughout your spaces. Again, you will see the fresh produce being used decoratively here. This time around, I tried something new and altered a traditional idea a bit… You can take a simple terra-cotta round planter and fill it up with fresh garden cabbages. I have used cabbages in our outdoor arrangements, but never planted it indoors. I really liked the simple yet bold statement it brought to our island.

Textured baskets are scattered throughout while being pretty and useful all at the same time.

And you may notice pumpkins on repeat around here. How can I resist?! They are too cute not to have sprinkled around.

Around the corner is our single bathroom and no space is left untouched by fall around our place. It needn’t be much and here it can be found in a little sunshine with flowers.

Across from the bathroom is our little bedroom retreat. This year I have chosen to mix a little bit of the bold with the bright. Bright white that is…

Navy blue has become a new neutral favorite for me and I had fun mingling it with our crisp linens.

I’m now leaving you with my most loved and most important tip for bringing fall into your home…. And that is to use texture!

I pretty much use this tip all year long, but especially during the fall months, nothing says cozy like texture (in my humble opinion).

It instantly and inexpensively changes up a space through the seasons. It makes you want to curl up and stay warm. It is welcoming and it is a simple way to make your home ready.

I hope that these tips were helpful to you as you prepare your homes for the season. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you visiting today as I showed you how we got everything ready for fall in our home with neutral and warm touches! Please don’t forget to head on over to Rachel at Maison de Pax. Everything she touches is beautiful; her spaces are welcoming, warm and just so lovely!

  2. Beautiful, cozy rooms. I love your subtle touches of fall. It can be hard to use restraint. But, most of all I’m swooning over your beaded light fixture. Would you share the source?

    1. Joanna thank you again! This one is from Wayfair, and if this isn’t the exact one, it is very similar – I believe it is called the Marinette 5 Light Candle Style Chandelier!

  3. You have a truly lovely home -this my first visit – found you from Craftberry Bush.

We had one of those weird little step ups/downs too – and it was dangerous…..we finally bit the bullet and had a contractor raise the lower floor to match it, OMG it’s sooooo much better.
Amazing what shelling out $$$ money can bring us sometimes, haha.

    I am your newest follower. : – )

    1. Michele thank you for the kind words! Those steps really can be dangerous and so true about the $$$, haha. That would be something we would love to do one day! I am very happy to have you here!

  4. I found you through Cottage and Vine. I had time this morning to peruse past posts. Who knew you could make a pop up camper look so much like home? I would camp in that. And…your Christmas post. Magical! I can’t wait to receive follow post in my inbox. You’re one talented girl.
