Catherine hi there and thanks so much for stopping by! That is a really good question. I do think that many places will offer samples for purchase. Which is probably the most sure way to find out if something is going to feel right as for texture and thickness. It makes the process a bit longer but defiantly worth it when making a big investment. I also like to think about the materials – are they wool, cotton or synthetic (as each of those have different thickness and softness). Searching Pinterest for photos of that specific rug can help too as it gives you a reference in other’s spaces. I hope this helps and again so glad to have you here!

Hi Susan thank you so much and I am glad to hear you think so! The sofa is originally from MOR Furniture and I made a slipcover for it a few years back. The chairs are Ikea and I made slipcovers from Linen curtains for them also =). The little ottomans are from Ikea and we love them because they are also storage as you can remove the lids!
