Thanksgiving Entertaining A Pumpkin Themed Table

Thanksgiving Entertaining A Pumpkin Themed Table

This blog hop is all about Thanksgiving entertaining.  As you know, I love flowers and I love pumpkins almost equally as much ;). So today I decided to combine the two for a simple table “look”.

I wanted to incorporate the blues I already had in our dining room rug and these fun glasses from past summer. So I shopped our specialty market for florals. I came across some that almost had a periwinkle tint to them and I was sold! Of course, I included elegant roses amidst cranberry inspired berries to enhance the autumn colors of the season.

Thanksgiving can be very fancy with your finest china or it can be as simple as paper goods with printed napkins. I chose to meet somewhere in the middle with everyday dishware, my favorite linen napkins and dollar store stemware. Though these items were more casual in nature, I upped the elegance with golden flatware and chic florals.

Last week I shared how to make a floral pumpkin and that is exactly what I used for the centerpiece of this table today! You can find the details here.

I completed the look with a row of coordinating pumpkins…

You will find different varieties here too as they bring interest to the table.

Everything from Blue Dolls (the blue colored pumpkin), to Fairytale ones (the muted orange pumpkin).

Even when changing color palettes up, it is helpful to keep traditional elements a part of the set up.

You may notice the wheat stalks and florals that mimic those traditional decorative textures and shapes as well.

Don’t be afraid to play around with a bright pop of color as I did here with the glasses either. Even though this teal color would normally speak summer to me, it works well with the contrasting hues of fall too!

Whatever you do, decorate your entertaining spaces with purpose in mind. Something that shows your personality, is easy to maneuver food around or rearrange if needed and is enjoyable for all… That includes you ;)!

Entertaining is such a treat and should not feel overwhelming to the point it steals the joy from the experience. Believe me I have had a time or two that I am guilty of that. Perfection isn’t necessary and beautiful can look so many different ways!
