Hi sweet friends! I am going to be sharing more and more Christmas on here with a little bit of other stuff mixed in as well =)… I am so excited to enjoy our first Christmas in this home! Today I am sharing some ways to decorate for Christmas on a budget. We are in the middle of our kitchen renovation, so spending money on other things is just not a priority right now. Instead I am choosing to not buy much of anything new decor wise this holiday season. And as I show just how I am doing this, I am also joining my friend Kristen at Ella Claire & Co. as we give some fun budget friendly Christmas ideas…

More than any other tip that I mention on here, the biggest piece of advice I can give for decorating on a budget is finding ways to repurpose. That is the key!

For example, I use the same garland year after year for my mantels. This year I had one that I had been storing, yet not using. It had lots of gold embellishments on it that just weren’t my style. So I simply cut them off and now I have this lush green garland to enjoy at no extra cost!

For my garland, I like to twist a variety of garlands together to make one big one. I also make sure to incorporate some stems. You will see that I stick picks or stems into the corners of my garland or dangle them from the center. This gives the garland great movement.

Lastly, adding picks to your Christmas tree is a wonderful way to update your tree without buying a new one.

I had some extra picks on hand that when added to the tree made it feel fresh or more alive looking! I can’t wait to decorate it =). Even though this is just the beginning of my decor and I will be adding to it as time goes on… Basic greens are a gorgeous way to decorate without needing extra ornaments and more. It is a fantastic option when you need to be careful with money.
