Traditional Christmas Tree With Details Of Blue!
This is the beginning of my favorite time of year and I have the biggest smile on my face when I put these posts together! Today I am sharing our traditional Christmas tree with hints of blue. I just love decorating Christmas trees and making our home special for the season. I am joining Kristen from Ella Claire & Co., make sure to check out all of these beautiful Christmas posts below!
This year I really wanted to do a bigger tree because we have such high ceilings. So I found this tree second hand for $75!
I did what I always do then, and ended up filling the tree with a variety of picks. I used greenery and eucalyptus styles. I also added the same berries I used last year with a few new ones.
I reused all of my ornaments from years past, hung up my newly hand painted ones and then bought these sweet star Scandinavian straw ones too.
I mimicked the colors in our home of blues, greens, browns, metals and because I wanted to have a traditional feel I also added some deep reds/plums. I wanted it to feel coastal and classic all at the same time.
I am all into the sage right now and found this pretty velvet ribbon that is incorporated here and there.
Packages are wrapped in lots of plaid, stripes and finished with simple ribbon.
Because I was decorating right next to this vintage coastal painting, I found it to be constant inspiration. I really worked on making the tree and painting pair well together.
Like last year, some of these ornaments belonged to my great and great great grandparents.
I took pictures with the main lights of the tree on and then some with only the fairy lights that I added on. It looks different each way and I like to show how pretty the different versions can be.
I actually ran out of the velvet ribbon and then it was sold out before I could get more for these pictures. But thankfully, I found some more at a different location and will add it now to the tree.
So while I did buy a second hand tree, painted some ornaments a bought a few… Overall this tree is made up up special decorations we have used through the years. It is a little different from years past but also very similar in a lot of ways too. I hope it inspired you as you decorate this season. I so appreciate you stopping by!
