How To Make DIY Sleigh Bells!

Easy DIY Sleigh Bells!

Well… Today is officially the first Christmas post of the year here on Zevy Joy! I can not even believe it, where does the time go?! I am sharing how to make simple DIY sleigh bells. I am joining Krista from The Happy Housie as we all show how to make some festive Christmas crafts…

DIY Sleigh Bells

All you need for this simple craft is:

  • A leather strap (any length would do, you could even recycle an old belt)!
  • A leather punch (I had one that came with a belt I bought but craft stores carry them too).
  • Jingle bells (I used 8 and the size will depend on how big you want them in comparison to the width of the strap).
  • Leather ribbon

To make these sleigh bells… You will punch holes and space them evenly where you want them.

Next you will thread the leather ribbon into the jingle bell…

Push both ends of the leather ribbon into the newly punched holes.

Then you will tie it all off on the back of the strap. I trimmed the ties down at the end as well.

I wanted something to hang these on, so I used a large curtain hoop and wrapped the top of the strap around. I punched two holes on the front and two holes on the back so I could do a leather stitch to hold it all together.

And there you have it!

Easy as can be and so pretty.

I have seen these both at antique stores or even online for a hefty price…

This cost me around $20 total and I just love it! I will be displaying this all over the house… Can’t wait! Hope you enjoyed!
