How To Make A Beautiful DIY Velvet Covered Christmas Ornament!

Directions On How To Make A DIY Velvet Covered Christmas Ornament!
Hi again friends! While I am done with all the blog hops and tours for this holiday season, I am still planning to share throughout. I’ve got some sweet DIY’s a decor tips I plan to show you. The last couple years velvet and flocked ornaments have been really popular. They really are so beautiful, but can sometimes be expensive or hard to find in stock… So today I am sharing how to make your own DIY Velvet Covered Ornament!

To start, you will need a plastic ornament, scissors, stretchy velvet material (enough to wrap around the ornament bulb), 2 small rubber bands (crafting or hair type work well), and then a larger ornament cap than the one that comes with the bulb.

Take the original ornament cap off of the ornament. You are going to want to wrap the ornament bulb with the velvet like above. Make sure that you have enough material so that there is excess on top. This makes it much easier to hold in place.

While holding the material all around the ornament in place, use the other hand to wrap each rubber band around the neck of the ornament bulb. This is what holds all the fabric in place.

Once you have everything secure and in place, carefully cut off that excess fabric so that it is pretty close to the neck of the ornament. Careful to not cut extremely close as it may start to slip through the rubber bands.

Now gently open up the larger ornament cap that you are using to replace the original. Place it onto the newly covered ornament and cover that trimmed fabric.

Carefully push the prongs in place and secure it all.

And you are done! It turns out so pretty…

I love these! I want to grab some more fabric in the lovely colors I saw at the craft store and add to my collection.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks so much for stopping by!

Love these,
What is the size of the Ornament Topper use used. And can you provide where you purchased them?
Kindest regards,
