I really enjoy sharing simple ways to celebrate the holiday seasons and today I am doing just that! It’s amazing how easy it is to create cozy Christmas ambiance with basic candles and lighting. I am going to show you how I like to do that in our home too. What is so magical about this season (decor speaking) is that you don’t need the latest and greatest.

What truly brings on the ambiance, is the candles and lighting. I really rely on remote/battery operated candles because they are much safer amongst all the greenery.

I even like to sprinkle battery tea lights whenever I can. I placed some amongst our stairs this year.

I was intentional where I put them (you don’t want them to be a tripping hazard). They cast the prettiest glow! I also staggered candlesticks on the outside the stairs too.

Aside from candles, twinkle lights are the best!

Of course they are wrapped around the Christmas tree… But they are also draped on the mantels and the stair railing.

A fireplace exudes Christmas ambiance with the flickering flames.

Amongst the fireplace there are more faux candles and twinkle lights.

This is repeated over and over throughout our home and in each room.

As the sun goes down I treasure the quiet moments and the warmth of how it looks and feels to our senses.

The wonderful thing is you can find candle holders and candlesticks very affordably, either brand new or second hand. Real and faux candles are an inexpensive item that goes a long way when decorating. And strands of twinkle lights can be hung almost anywhere and instantly make the ambience!
