A Pretty Anthropologie Inspired Letter Ornament DIY!

How To Make A Pretty Anthropologie Inspired Felt Letter Ornament!

I have always loved those pretty felt letter ornaments you see each year at Anthropologie. This year I decided to try and make a version of my own and that is how you can make this inspired ornament too! I joined up with Krista from The Happy Housie to share ornaments so you will want to make sure and check them out at the end!

Here is what you will need for the ornament:

  • A Sheet of Felt Fabric (this can be found in the craft section)…
  • Embroidery Thread (I used a few skeins)
  • Needle and Basic Sewing Thread
  • Scissors
  • Beads for Embellishing

To make this little A I drafted out and sketched the letter by hand (you could print and trace one though)!. Then I traced the A onto the felt to make 3 separate A’s. Next I cut these A’s out and got ready to embroider.

I don’t know how to “officially” embroider so I just kinda went with it, haha! I wanted it to look like Christmas greens and berries, but you could do stripes, polka dots and any design really!

Once I had the design embroidered on, I then carefully sewed on sparkly beads to make it a bit more whimsical.

I matched up the three A’s on top of each other (to achieve the thickness I wanted) and used a simple sewing stitch to hold them in place.

To finish it all off I simply used more of the embroidery thread to sew on a nice border.

I will say this ornament was a labor of love ;)… So be prepared it did take a few hours from start to finish. But I love it!

I wanted to use it as stocking decoration but it would be so sweet on the tree too!

Now I just need to make one for each member of my family… Looks like this may be a project for Christmas break. I will have fun playing around with colors and designs though. I hope you enjoy!
