Some Simple Way to Decorate For Summer!

Hello friends and hello Summer! Oh my goodness this is my favorite season of the year. I long for these warmer days and all the fresh air. It truly does my soul so much good! Which is why I am excited to share a very simple, but charming summer home tour with you today… If you are visiting from Jen at Rambling Renovators, welcome! Jen is so talented and I cannot wait to go virtually visit her beautiful home. And a big thank you to Krista at The Happy Housie for hosting this hop!

A Simple Charming Home Tour

There are SO many updates we have made here these last few months and I have a backlog of DIY posts to share about our projects on the blog. But until then… You can see a peek of what we have been up to. As for decorating for the seasons, my approach has been evolving over the years. I am focusing less on changing many things out, but rather focusing on a few simple things that speak to the season we are in…

For me, that means more greenery with plants throughout the summer….

Or fresh flowers! Flowers are my very favorite and using them to decorate seasonally is also a go-to to for me.

This fresh batch of white florals came from our backyard and didn’t cost a dime… But they sure are pretty and I love how they brighten the space.

I am not changing out pillows like I used to, but I am making sure that my blankets or throws are appropriate for the weather.

That means light weight knits such as linens find their way out and everything else gets tucked away.

As you head across the room, you will see our basic dining room.

Here I grabbed those same white flowers and assembled them into a creamy white vase. Paired with dishes and bowls to make things feel complete.

Funny as I was editing these photos, I realized our table was off center from the chandelier, haha. Oh well…

I love the look of a half set table. It feels like a “behind the scenes” of a still life painting.

Our kitchen is still a bit unfinished. As you can see I have some painting to do and we need to finish the tile above the sink.

Here is our hallway that we just completed! I will share an updated post soon of all the we did with a good before/after… But for now you can see it all done. We used this board and batten design from Anita Yakota and I love it!

Here is a little look at our bedroom too. Nothing major has changed in here other than switching out the linens, rug and curtains. It feels so light in airy in here now and we are really enjoying it.

Make sure to visit Chelsea at Two Twenty One who is so creative, there will be so much to enjoy on her tour. And then visit then entire tour as well that is listed below! Thanks so much for visiting today friends…
