DIY Eucalyptus and Berry Fall Wreath
Hot to make a DIY Fall wreath!
Fall Wreath DIY!
Our garage is in the throws of an update and as usual it is taking a little more time and energy than expected. Therefore the house is thrown apart, school is starting and I have been feeling a little frazzled… Oh wait a lot frazzled, haha! We are thankful for the opportunity to do it and I can’t wait to share it with you soon. But until then, I’ve got some little fall projects and touches I have been adding along the way this season. The first being this DIY eucalyptus berry fall wreath. I am joining Krista from The Happy Housie of part of her Seasonal Simplicity Series!
Here are the easy steps I followed to make this wreath and the things you will need to do it!
- Fresh or faux eucalyptus. I chose real as I had some on hand and I think it will dry nicely.
- Faux berry stems
- Scissors or wire cutters
- A grapevine wreath
I made a smaller wreath this time and in fact, I trimmed/thinned down the grapevine wreath to make it the size I wanted. Depending on the size of your wreath, your material amounts may vary.
After I got the grapevine wreath the size I wanted it, I began to trim the eucalyptus and berry stems. You want them long enough to tuck and fix into the wreath, but no too long.
I started by inserting the eucalyptus stems into the wreath. By weaving the stems in and out a bit there was no need for wire. But of course you could fix things in with wire just in case.
I like to lay things out and then insert stems as I go. That way, I can change things if they get to full or feel out of place.
I kept the branches and picks turned and going in the same direction around the wreath.
As I got closer to filling the entire wreath, I went back and filled in barer spots as needed.
And there you have it! This was so easy and done in under 20 minutes!
I love the character it adds to whatever space I put it. It has an organic feel to it and makes the space feel fresh with the freshly picked branches.
For a little change of pace, I added it to our kitchen shelving.
Normally I would hang it on a door, but our doors are surrounded by the contents from our garage temporarily so there was no styling that could be done there… lol.
But I like that wreaths can be used anywhere and look good!
I hope you enjoyed and that this project is something you may try out this season!
