How I make our kitchen warm and cozy during the Christmas season!

I am slowly making my way decorating for Christmas around the house. I have said it before, and I will keep saying… I just LOVE this Christmas season! Over the years I have found really simple and effective ways to bring warmth and coziness to spaces. Today is all about the kitchen! For starters, sweet treats make such a welcoming statement when they are scattered throughout on countertops. I really like the idea of family/guests being able to help themselves to a gingerbread from a cookie jar. I recently added these glass gingerbread houses and think they are darling!

When I was preparing to decorate here this season, I really made a goal that most of my decor was edible and would serve a purpose more than being just pretty. Fruit and spices do just that!

In fact, I took some of the orange slices above and mixed them into a pot of water for stove top potpourri.

My whole family commented when walking in the house how much they loved the smell. So easy and pretty!

I took some more of the sliced oranges and baked them for garland I am making this season.

The remainder of oranges were grouped in a bowl with herbs. The smells and vibrant colors make for the most delightful experience with your senses and really help everything feel warm/inviting!

As I shopped at the grocery store I made sure to grab one of these cedar wreaths. It smells amazing too. Adding a wreath to the kitchen also makes the kitchen feel cozy and sentimental.

Lastly, a candle burns quietly in the corner with Christmas greenery. Simple and yet so beautiful!
