Designing and creating on a simple budget.

A Simple Spring Mantel

A Simple Spring Mantel

Hey there friends! The sun has been shining so much lately and my heart couldn’t be happier. We just got over an icky stomach bug this last week/weekend and all the sunshine made healing up that much better! Now it feels like Spring really is in the air. In fact, yesterday I was just having a conversation with my mama, saying that the house felt warmer and the air felt different. Strange maybe, but true that we feel those things and notice them, right?! Anyhow, today I am joining Krista from The Happy Housie and sharing my very simple spring mantel.

This mattel area also holds our t.v. so it truly needs to remain simple. Because we are moving things to and from it often. For this season, I set out on a mission to find a little green plant with some hanging length to it.

A Simple Spring Mantel

I didn’t find exactly what I wanted as I hoped for something that would hang a bit longer. But I did find this little vine and it still was going to work well, so I went with it! I didn’t want to overdo the greenery either as we have plants placed all around this room. That would have been another fun look, just not the one I was going for.

Next I grabbed a basket from the kitchen and repeated the circular shape from the mirror. It also gave the surface some texture which is always a good idea.

And a couple empty candlesticks varying in height finished the ledge off just right.

Across the way, I did quickly put together a little spring vignette. So easy to do and really enhances the space nicely!

A Simple Spring Mantel

I took some fresh flowers, a plant mister and wooden beads layered onto tiered trays. That’s all it takes and it is done! This little crew down below enjoyed snuggling up for some sunshine and reading, making this space all ready for spring!

Don’t forget to go take a look at all these other spring mantel/vignette ideas from my sweet friends down below too! Thanks for visiting with me!
