Mix and Match Style
Not too long ago, I shared how we planned to mix up our design style by incorporating some modern pieces with our more tradtional/farmhouse pieces here. I also talked about mixed metals in the home here. It all got me thinking about mix and match style in general. Whether you are doing it with with coffee cups and mugs as pictured above…
With flowers (when any assortment of pretty blooms are put together you can never go wrong)…
And furniture pieces (like the last of my birthday present fun pictured above). These were a recent gift purchase and I am really enjoying how they tie in so much of the design style I have been working on achieving in our home.
The best part of mixing and matching is that is can be done so easily on a budget. There is no need to feel pressured to make pieces a complete set, but rather cohesive. They can look different and work together all the same – also known as Eclectic style too.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a lovely Valentine’s Day! I will be back tomorrow sharing the second part to the Shop the House Design Challenge and I would love to have you stop by!
I’m all about mixing styles lately too! Love the more eclectic, collected look and especially mixed metals!
