Easy Summer Decorating on a Budget – Summer Home Tour
Ideas for Summer Decorating on a budget!
Budget Summer Decorating Ideas!
Good morning friends! I know I have shared bits and pieces of our home decorated for the season, but today I am bringing it all together! I wanted to share how I get each room summer ready and while using some budget friendly ideas along the way! I am joining my friend Krista at The Happy Housie with a group of amazing ladies sharing their homes down below too! Welcome to those of you who are visiting from Laura at Inspiration For Moms, I am so glad to have you here!
As I was prepping for this post, I started scheming what grand floral arrangements I would put together and how I could make this post pretty/presentable… And then I remembered… Oh yea, we are on a budget! Haha. But seriously, the hubby and I are really trying to crack down on expenses and that means less trips to the store for flowers. So I thought how I could show you how I did things without a single trip to the store!
For starters, I searched the yard for any flowers I could find!
We have these bushes that are in full bloom with white fragrant flowers. I went a clipped a bunch and stuffed them in my thrifted pot…
I would have spent a pretty penny on these if I had gone to the store to buy them and honestly these were unique… Something that I could not have found so it was a win-win!
You will always find Wes or Wyatt lying around during these warmer days soaking up the sun like this guy here ;)…
Here in our family room you will notice it pretty much looks the same! And while that clearly is a budget friendly trick of mine ;)… To keep things simple and avoiding the urge to buy new things. Instead, I used my plants in place of florals. Another reason I love plants!
Because they last so very long and are worth the investment up front.
Don’t get me wrong, I will always love a vase full of pretty fresh flowers! But sometimes that isn’t practically and plants really do the trick especially during those spring/summer months.
Now into the kitchen…
I recently thrifted this extra large wooden bowl while thrift shopping. And while it isn’t in perfect condition, I love it! It holds a ton of fruit and I grabbed some rosemary from the yard to add fragrance/greenery. I have always said, that using everyday items or necessities such as produce is all the decor you need in the kitchen!
These two followed me along in each room as I photographed… lol. I also switched out the rug for summer. This one hides dirts/stains really well as I know we will have dirty feet traveling in and out often!
And that’s all for now! I am working on a good before/after post of our entire home so stay tuned for that as well as a fun DIY mirror I have been working on! Now head on over Dannyelle at Life is a Party and enjoy her Summer home tour!
Make sure to also visit these sweet friends down below as well! Thanks so much for stopping by you all!

Love the way you used plants! I’ve been holding on to a bamboo stand just like the one you have and now I know exactly what to do with it—adorn it with a plant! So beautiful, as always, Annie!
Love how bright and fresh it all looks. The flowers from your yard are gorgeous and I love all your plants. I noticed your oven and dishwasher in the kitchen. We’re years off doing our kitchen over but wondered is that Cafe appliances? If so, do you love it? Thanks, friend. xx
