Good Morning all! How fun to have you back again as all the Spring celebrations continue… Today I am sharing our kitchen all dressed up for spring with some touches of fresh greenery and pops of pink! It’s all a part of the Spring Styling Tour with Jennifer at Town and Country Living!
Here above you will see our kitchen “after” spring has sprung, but I am going to walk you through the steps of how I got there with some “before” and “during” as well, hoping that they may be helpful tips as you set up around your home!
So here we go… Below I have our kitchen in it’s very basic and post winter state, haha.
After Christmas, I kinda go through a cleaning craze and get everything decluttered. I like to keep my counters bare and of course an occasional bouquet of flowers will find its way on the island at times. Fruit fills our bowl and is used on a daily basis. That is about as fancy as it gets from January to February ;).
You will see the same for my shelving as well. In fact, the last couple months everything has been pretty monochromatic with occasional sprinkling of black accessories.
The rack stayed bare with some aprons hung for occasional use. These are all still fine ways to decorate and I most likely will go back and forth from them time to time. With the weather warming up and the sun staying around longer though, I chose to brighten the space up.
Here are the “during” steps I used…
Bring in plants…
If you caught my post yesterday, you will notice that I am bringing in plants everywhere, haha! The kitchen is no exception… And if you don’t have somewhere for them to sit, don’t be afraid to hang them. Most decor or craft stores have a variety of hanging plant holders to enjoy.
I also added another plant to sit atop our shelf…
Much like plants, flowers are such a simple but vibrant way to bring joy to any space. I love lilies and these stood out to me as the perfect spring addition for our kitchen island.
I love to arrange flowers from our sink. It allows me to look at all the prettiness while cut stems and set them in water.
These smell soooo good and they brighten the heart of our home.
Any variety of flower works, even branches from the tree outside or blossoming vines… Whatever speaks to you!
Bring a pop of color in…
Again, this can be done with flowers, but it can also be done with accessories.
I found this darling stack of bowls at our HomeGoods and knew that it would be just the right amount of pink I was looking for! Between the bowls and the flowers I was able to make the space a little more festive!
This rule applies to every room in the home ;)… The easiest way to do this is by using baskets or rugs. Here in the kitchen I hung a basket for interest next to the hanging plant.
All of these spring touches were basic and easy to repeat! The best part is the plants will last well through the summer (if I can keep them alive, lol) and translate through the seasons. It was budget friendly as well. I had the basket and only bought 3 bowls (instead of a whole table setting). Flowers are a regular item budgeted in our groceries and the plants were an investment for weeks to come.
I hope this inspires you as you decorate your sweet homes too. I appreciate your visits and will see you back next week for more!
