Easy Ikea Ivar Chair Hack!
How To Transform an Ikea Ivar Chair!
A Hack For An Ikea Ivar Chair
I wanted to stop in and share a very easy transformation I did with some of my Ikea MarketPlace finds! These Ivar chairs were a deal as a set (second hand), so I scooped them up this summer. I knew I could transform them and do some kind of Ikea hack! Fast forward to the recent reveal of our dining room… I have 6 chairs now and previous to their makeover, I wanted them to have a coastal vibe. I went to my tried and true method, slipcovers!
Here is what I did…
I bought a set of inexpensive Ikea chair covers (I would love to replace these one day, but the cushions will do for now).
Then I took my cushions to the fabric store to match up the colors as best as I could to make tops for the chairs. I found some similar sale fabric and headed home to measure and sew!
I did my “usual” reverse (inside -out) pinning and fitting. Then I sewed seams, ironed the seams and hemmed the top/bottom.
Once everything was all sewn, the tops covers slid right on!
And there you have it! A simple and inexpensive hack for Ikea Ivar Chairs. I will say… These are not completely done as when I have more time, I intend on staining these a pretty color. I hope you enjoyed and head back later this week as I am sharing some fun upcoming kitchen plans! Thanks for visiting with me!
