Some Easy and Budget Friendly Fall Decorating Ideas!

How To Decorate For Fall On A Budget
Welcome to the other side of our dining room that I recently shared! And here’s a fun first look at how this space is coming together all decorated for fall! I still have quite a bit to do in here, but I love taking my time with spaces and getting an idea of what they need. But nonetheless, autumn is around the corner and there is always time to decorate for the season. So today I am going to share some budget friendly ideas to decorate for fall. These are my tried and true ideas that I use every year and I am excited to be joining Kristen at Ella Claire & Co. to share them with our friends.

Alright, so tip one is the most obvious one ;). Pumpkins! I don’t use as many pumpkins as I used to in the past, but I do like to sprinkle a few here and there. To make this budget friendly, I typically have faux ones on hand. They last for years and I only need to buy a few real ones when the time comes.

Having one perched a top the mantel is always a good idea.

Or a bowl/container with several small ones is a simple nod to a fall must-have!

Secondly, a fireplace is a great way to get your space cozy. We actually brought this fireplace from living in Ty’s grandfather’s basement. We plan to use it right here in the house, except this time we will build it in and eventually add a top to it! So even if you don’t have one, building one or buying one is a nice and inexpensive alternative option! Even though this is not a working fireplace, I just put a few logs inside to make it feel complete. Buying or making one ends up costing less that having one officially built into your home.

Lastly, don’t forget to layer things on… Literally! I layer on texture throughout the fall/winter seasons. I do this with different neutrals… This may not seem budget friendly, but here’s why it is! These layers are not necessarily seasonal. I have most of these on hand all year long, but just use them differently throughout the months. This way I have a nice supply, but am not buying new ones each and every time fall rolls around. This include textiles such as…

Wool blankets…

Festive plaids…

Faux furs…

And cable knits as seen below!

Some of these items can be an investment up front but end up saving you money in the end. Other times, you can find these things second hand making them a great deal. And any time you are DIYing you are usually saving money which is another great way to save. All of these ideas are helpful when decorating for fall on a budget and I hope you find them helpful!
