I am playing around with how often to share these posts and what official name to call them. If they are something that you are liking I always appreciate hearing if you think so! I am grateful to have you here with your visits.

March felt like such a wonderful and busy month. I found myself pulled in lots of different directions and needed to allocate time wisely. Both of my kids have birthdays in March that are 11 days apart. It was a month full of celebrations with friends and family and I loved it! We had our spring break, family from Washington visiting and school performances. I am also very tired… Haha! We’ve also been working hard behind the scenes at Zevy Joy, both on our home, client projects, blog work and social media… Phew!

Recap from the Blog Recently

Lets take a look at what’s been happening on the blog these past couple weeks…

  • Thrift Store Makeover: I made over this inexpensive vase because I loved the shape. It cost a little more to fix it up verses if I had bought it brand new, but I love how it turned out! You can see more here.

  • Faux Tree Displays: I have tried to use as many real trees throughout my home decor as possible, but I have found that it isn’t that practical. They do not survive as long as I would hope and can be unhealthy for dogs (not a great idea). I have chosen to go faux for now and really prefer it! We shared a guide on how to display your faux trees making them look elegant and more realistic.

Behind the Scenes at Home

A quick look at what projects and updates we have been up to here at home this last month…

Our Main Bathroom: Here are some candid progress photos of our bathroom/bedroom renovation. All the shiplap is installed and ready to go. We also framed out the original mirror and hung a light fixture. Monday and Tuesday I am planning to start painting the bathroom and found the prettiest color! Can’t wait to share more with you soon.

Landscaping Progress: Little by little we have been working on and updating the front and back exterior of our home. Outside our kitchen banquette is a set of windows with a very bare brown fence. So just last week we had some greenery planted to make things a little visually more appealing! It is so pretty. I am looking forward to watching these fill in.

Design Inspiration and Decor Tips

I have been focussing on the idea of decorating a lot personally here in our own spaces. I know I’ve said it many times, but making a home takes time. That means making a home feel both styled and curated requires thoughtful time. I wrote this post here not too long ago and believe it is a helpful explanation on just exactly what those two things mean.

Favorite Finds

These are some favorites that I have bought lately, have on my list to get soon or just think they are a good find!

  • Faux Black Olive Tree: This tree is a great option for the price! It is about half the price of the tree I have in our family room and I am using this one in our bedroom now.
  • Patterned Jute Rug: This is not the same rug as what we have in our bedroom, but this rug is about half the price and has a similar look to it.
  • Wooden Toilet Stool: We have these in every bathroom and they are the best! You can read more in the description.
  • Cordless and Rechargeable Table Lamp: The quality is amazing and they work everywhere! I set mine on dining tables, counters, coffee tables, bathrooms, etc…
  • Kitchen Towels: I have shared these before and will keep sharing! They are so good!
  • Solar Outdoor Lights: I am getting ready to do a whole blog post on these, but they are the very easiest way to add some night time curb appeal.

That’s it for today and a look back at this last month. Looking ahead for April, I plan to share our finished bathroom/bedroom, some outdoor ideas and more! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.
