Some Updates – Home and More

It has felt like a very busy month with a Kindergartner starting school, a mini kitchen renovation, and fall around the corner. I am thankful to say that we are finaly settling into the routine of school, using our kitchen and enjoying this new season. I am hoping to share a small tour of our kitchen and the rest of our home at the beginning of next week. For now, here are some small updates and projects we have done as we move into Autumn.
We have fixed the structural issues with our island and adjusted the grout. Now there are just little things to add – like the finishing work, some calking, painting, etc… After all the work involved with this kitchen update we are in no hurry to make it all happen. We are taking our time and trying to pace ourselves – DIY can be a tiring process although rewarding! I did find these two counter stools while thrifting the other day. I scored the set for less than $20 and they were perfect for our renovated kitchen. I wil be adjusting thier hight and giving them some paint, but it just goes to show that updates and decorating truly can be affordable!
I have a collection of pumpkins going on throughout the house. I enjoy mixing real ones, painted faux ones (most of these are dollar store) and of course some greenery. I can’t decide where to keep my new Between You and Me Sign and I am loving it here for now.

I recently made this throw using Lucy from Craftberry Bush’s tutorial for a tassel throw. As you can see peeking through the windows, the leaves are turning a golden hue and it couldn’t be more beautiful.
Lastly, I have the honor of contributing monthly to this new online Magazine, Everything Home Magazine. I will be doing a column titled, The Inspired Room and will be sharing inspiring spaces and the details/story behind these lovely rooms. You can head to the website and subscribe for free. Hope you will check it out! Thanks so much for stopping by and hope the rest of your week is wonderful.
You found an amazing set of stools!!! I think it is so much more fun to search for a set of $20 stools and make them you, than it is to open a catalog and spend $200. Your room is really coming together.
So true, thank you very much Jamie!
Ohhh Annie what a beautiful post!I love all of your rustic touches and the mix of real and faux pumpkins!
Your column in the magazine is going to rock…I cannot wait!
Collette, thank you so much! I truly appreciate this opportunity and am thrilled to do this with you! Can not wait!
