All the Details in this Pretty Coastal Inspired Bedroom!

Hi there sweet friends! We have been busy looking at homes to buy lately and waiting to find the one that feels like it is our “home”… And during all this house hunting business, I was so excited to get to work on our bedroom here at the rental we are staying in temporarily. I was thrilled to partner with Serena and Lily for this post as I had been dreaming up coastal ideas for our new home (and current spaces) so it was the perfect fit! As a quick recap, we have moved to California where my husband is starting a new job. We are also situated near the coast, so the ocean is our backdrop and has become my inspiration for how I hope to decorate our next home. As you can see above, this is the main bedroom we are using and it was lovely. But, I decided to give it a refresh because I have missed decorating and it sure was a treat to use all these pretty pieces of bedding! Now here is the after down below…

It is such a breath of fresh air in here now! I did make a couple changes to the headboard, added some new art and a bench (all thrifted) to quiet the areas around the bed.

I did what I always love to do with bedrooms and added lots of layers. I started the base of the bed with my favorite textile, linen! Let me tell you why… Linen is refreshing, it is elegant and it is organic in how it feels in a room. I use it everywhere and anytime I can when decorating.

I picked the Positano Essential Bedding Set in white and it acts as a versatile canvas that can be used over and over. This set is comfortable and timeless. It has thoughtful details in the design of the stitching as you will notice on the edge of the duvet. Because I loved the Postiano style so much, I added the Euro shams in the same style too.

Here you can see the Cambria shams colored in Sand. I can’t get over the block print and stitching here as well. There is even a tassel on the corner. These are the details that really define the quality of their products.

Keeping in line with layers, I always like to throw a quilt at the end of the bed. Again, this is a linen layer and just look at this Flax Sutter Quilt’s pin tuck detail! Linen layers are a great idea even in the summer because linen breaths so well.

And to finish the look off, I used this Blue Topanga Pillow. This felt especially fitting for the look because it has the blue I have been so inspired by our ocean surroundings… I really wanted things to have that coastal feel and this tassled pillow does just that! It helps tie the whole look together.

I have used Serena and Lily products before and they do not disappoint! In this case, I was going for a design that had a nod to coastal elements…

But the great thing about Serena and Lily is that their style is timeless, classic and versatile. These pieces will last for years to come and will become heirloom pieces. I picked out all this knowing this would also be used in our future home. I can’t wait to share that with you someday soon! In summary here are the pieces I picked out for the room:

Positano Essential Bedding Set in White

Positano Euro Shams in White

Cambria Standard Shams in Sand

Sutter F/Q Linen Quilt in Flax

Topanga Pillow 14″x30″ in Blue

I hope you enjoyed seeing this transformation and how using quality bedding gave the entire space a whole look without needing paint or construction.

A big thank you to Serena and Lily for partnering with me on this project!
