Easy Steps for Transforming a Vase Into a Pot with Spray Paint!

I have a very easy upcycling project to share with you today! I ran to the local thrift store and found this pretty glass mercury vase… I knew I loved the shape and details but wanted to change up the look and function. So I am showing you how the power of spray paint can change things like this vase into a plant pot! And I am joining my friends Ashley from Modern Glam, Janine from Happy Happy Nester and Leslie from My 100 Year Old Home as they have projects too!

Here is the vase I started with… Not bad at all and it was pretty, I just didn’t want the silver finish…

For starters, I wrapped painters tape around the places I did not want to spray paint.

Then I took it out to give it a good couple coats of spray paint.

I carefully pulled away the paint and it came out looking like this.

Now it looks perfectly fine, but if I am being honest… I am going to spend a little extra time on this project.

I had originally intended to use rub n buff for this and unfortunately all the craft stores were out…

So I will order some to add. I am doing this because I think it will give the pot that extra dimension I was looking for! And of course instead of florals, I filled this up with a plant because this little project up cycled from vase to pot!
