Holiday Housewalk 2025 – Traditional Christmas Tree and Decor

Welcome to this year’s Holiday Housewalk home tour hosted by Jennifer Rizzo. It is always an honor to be part of these tours and I am beyond grateful to be included. Jennifer Rizzo does such an incredible job hosting and is so very talented! Each year they are filled with wonderful ideas and loads of inspiration.

Hello to those of you who are visiting from Jennifer at Town and Country Living! Jennifer has a gorgeous home that she makes magical throughout the seasons. I truly look forward to seeing what she shares on her blog.

Here’s a look into our home where timeless décor fills every corner with warmth and nostalgia. I leaned into classic holiday colors and familiar textures to create a home that feels both comforting and beautifully festive.

From the tree to the mantel, each space is styled with layers of rich greens, berry reds, and pieces that remind us of Christmases past. My hope is that this tour brings you fresh inspiration and the cozy, magical feeling that defines the season.

Traditional Christmas Tree

Pictured here is our formal living room where we added this faux fireplace last year. I have loved decorating it these past two Christmas’! This season I chose to keep things somewhat simple with rustic Christmas greens, magnolia leaves and my DIY candlesticks.

I hung an assortment of special stockings collected over the years, some old and some new. I tucked some deep cranberry red ribbon throughout the greens for contrast and texture.

Twinkle lights dance and weave throughout the garland and glow best at night or on a cloudy day.

I love to use wrapped presents as part of the decor and recycle ribbon each and every year. I also enjoy using this Christmas wrapping hack when wrapping presents. You will notice I rarely use bows (I have nothing against bows, I just like the ease of this method and how it looks).

Traditional Christmas Tree

Then there is the most important decoration of the room, the Christmas tree! After moving, it took me some time to figure out what works best in here. I have been adding to our collection of ornaments for the past 4 years. I knew it would take time and I have also kept ornaments that you will have seen on every tree that I have decorated over the last decade. But this bigger tree also needed larger ornaments, so while I had many I still had some sourcing to do.

Traditional Christmas Tree

This tree is rustic, traditional and special in so many ways! I love to mix tones of red, incorporate blues and browns and faux cranberry garland (this belonged to my husband’s grandmother). Gold trimmed velvet ribbon peeks in and out amongst the branches.

Traditional Christmas Tree

I have enjoyed all the trees of our past and how they looked, but this one really may be my favorite. I think I may say that every year… lol. I tried not to change much from last year but just build on it.

Traditional Christmas Tree

We’ve got everything from Grandma’s keepsakes, handmade lovelies, glass, plastic and dollar store additions hanging on here. Truly a combination of high/low.

I didn’t trade out too many pillow covers either, although I do have a couple I want to add in and just haven’t done it yet. I really like the mix of coastal blues and traditional colors in here.

It’s all very cozy and warm. Surprisingly this year was my easiest year of decorating.

Traditional Christmas Tree

I think that is because last year I donated or gave away anything we were no longer using or were just holding onto in case I may want to use it. I got this room down to two large bins and everything was really straight forward.

I plan to keep things this way for next year too. I’m sure I’ll add some select new pieces, but nothing major.

Christmas Decor

As you leave the living room, you head back into the entryway with our staircase.

Christmas Decor

Garland is draped all down the way and layered with more magnolia leaves/ribbon.

Christmas Decor

These past few months I have been working on collecting second-hand blue Chinoiserie pieces that go perfectly with our Christmas decor. But they will also be carried throughout the rest of the year. I used much of it for our Thanksgiving table setting that I will be sharing soon.

As you walk past the entry you will find yourself in our family room. This is our more casual room where we hang out and watch t.v.

Christmas Decor

This room has lower ceilings, feels smaller and that just makes things feel that much cozier.

Christmas Decor

Much like the casualness of this room, I keep the Christmas decor the same.

Christmas Decor

This is where we have our sentimental Christmas tree where you will see family baby ornaments, crafted ornaments, ornaments from trips and anything that has special meaning.

Tradtional Christmas Decor

More festive wrapped presents and my DIY tablecloth Christmas skirt are here too.

Christmas Decor

Candles and greenery are scattered around the mantle and table tops too.

Christmas Decor

Our living room feels more formal, while this room is whimsical and fun.

Christmas Decor

I have always been drawn to have the combination of the two in our home. One formal tree and one more casual.

Christmas Decor

I so appreciate you being here and visiting with me while I share a peek into our home all decorated for the holidays. Christmas is my favorite time of year, making it such a sweet time to open our home up! Thank you for having me Jennifer Rizzo as part of your Holiday Housewalk!

Make sure to head to the next house on the tour with Jennifer at Clean and Scentsible! Jennifer has a beautiful home where I know you will find an abundance of creativity and inspiration! I’ve had the joy of joining Jennifer on many tours throughout the years and I am always in awe of what she shares.

  1. Beautiful as always, Annie! I’m totally sold on your no-bow Christmas wrapping hack and am going to use it this year. The bows always get crushed when transporting the gifts to another location, so why bother? Yours look so pretty. Love the new fireplace in the living room – the shape is perfect for that space. I love that you use some of grandma’s ornaments on your tree – it’s a great way to remember holidays past!

  2. SO beautiful Annie! I’m in love with your tree in your living room and the fireplace and mantle decorations are gorgeous. I love that classic, nostalgic Christmas feeling! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family.
