DIY Christmas Cards and a Simple Garland
The to-do’s are piling up and time is going fast as we approach Christmas. We make most of our extended family gifts and often make ornaments for aunts and uncles, great grandparents, etc… We also make homemade Christmas cards. Last February I shared a fun tutorial for sewing hearts onto these cards. I have thought about using the same instructions for the different seasons throughout the year. So I decided to make a similar version, but this time with Christmas trees.
Here is what you will need…
Thick scrapbook paper for tracing and cutting into Christmas Trees (example available here) and plain or designed cards (as shown above – these were from the dollar bin at Target last year).
Follow the easy instructions from my post here to sew these sweet little cards together.
In addtion, I wanted to share a similar project using the same Christmas tree templates here, but instead sewing them into a simple garland.
You will need…
Scissors, Christmas Tree Cut-Outs, Thread and Sewing Machine.
You will make this easy garland by…
Just simply sewing each tree a few inches apart. I fed each Christmas tree as I went and eyeballed the space between. You can vary this measurement to your preference.
These would be adorable hung from a tree, a mirror, shelf and so much more. They would even make a great embellishment on gift wrap!
I hope you enjoy these easy, stress free projects as this magical season moves forward quickly. We are working hard to slow down and enjoy this beautiful time of year. Caught these two enjoying the tree and it was a good reminder that I should be following their lead more often.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
This garland is the cutest thing ever! Love the cards and LOVE your workspace, Annie!
Thank you so much Keila!
