DIY Dollar Store Christmas Ornament – Snowy Scene
A Whimsical DIY Ornament Made With Mostly Dollar Store Items!
How To Make A DIY Dollar Store Christmas Ornament With A Snowy Scene!
I have a very simple and sweet DIY to share today! I rounded up items from the Dollar Store, but you can find most of these things at any craft store. This DIY Dollar Store Christmas ornament with a snowy scene is whimsical and looks darling hanging from the tree! I am joining Jen from Tatertots and Jello for a hop of DIY Christmas ideas, make sure to check them out down below.
I bought some mini figurines, a pint jar plastic ornament (that opens from the bottom) and snow felting. I also used hot glue with glue gun and Rub n Buff. *Please note though that the Rub n Buff didn’t work great on everything though… So I would recommend using spray paint so that it really coats everything well. In addition, you can use glitter or sequins to create that snowy feel.
Here I gave all the figurines, ornament cap and lid to the ornament a good coating of gold.
Then I cut a square out of the felting (this will depend on the size ornament you use). I bunched it up at the bottom and glued it to the lid. Make sure you do not glue where the lid screws on. You will want to glue away from that otherwise it will not close.
Next, I glued the figurines on top of the snow felting.
Here you can see how I glued the tree onto the midway point of the snowman. That way there was a variation of height. This also helps them sit up straight when you put everything back together.
Now it’s time to put it all back together. If you want to add glitter or sequins you will want to add them to the ornament itself before the next step. Carefully insert the newly glued section into the ornament and screw the lid on.
There you have it! This sweet little ornament is ready to be hung on the tree!
I love how it turned out! It would make for such a great neighbor gift, family ornament and more!

I love these. Aren’t those little jars just brilliant! I made some ornaments with them too. The possibilities are endless. I love the warm metal tones of yours – would be perfect with our tree decor this year. Merry Christmas Annie!
