A Summer Tablescape!

I get so excited when I get to play around with florals. Florals happen to be my favorite thing to draw/paint and also my favorite to decorate with! When it came time for today’s, Style and Set Tours, I couldn’t be more excited to get creating! Welcome to those of you who are visiting from Lory at Designthusiasm! Lory is a master at putting beautiful tables together and I am certain you left there inspired! Over here, I put together a fresh/simple summer tablescape and am about to show you all the details! Some which include my most recent thrifted purchase too!

To start off, when putting a table together I really like to try and find a low profile, large vase for filling with flowers.

I say low, because I like when you can have something that stays on the table, but that guests are also able to see over as they dine.

In all honesty, I find that hydrangeas are the easiest flowers to arrange with. They are so large and fluffy they look good no matter how you stick them in with other flowers or they look stunning on their own!

Since this was a summer inspired table, I also choose to use ferns, grasses and palm type leaves I found at my local big chain grocery store. Those ferns are so cheap as they are usually purposed as filler.

Here you can see I have my new thrifted seashell napkin holders and I LOVE them! They pair perfectly with my carefree linen napkins as well. Again a summer staple.

A variety of wine glasses are set out to enjoy those crisp beverages on those hot summer evenings.

These green hydrangeas were such a striking green I couldn’t resist!

Rattan charges give the table the breezy summer vibe that I was going for.

The greatest amount of effort came with ironing the napkins, lol! But truly, this table was really simple to put together…

  1. What a lovely understated summer table! I recognize your napkin rings. I have 8 of the same ones that I bought as a newlywed over 45 years ago. It’s nice to know when all my stuff goes to the thrift store someone else will love it too.
