How To Add Simple Fall Touches To Your Home!
I have been decorating quite a bit around here and have been trying to find that balance of making home, while also decorating for the seasons. I have a peek of our family room to share with you today and while the design of our home is all things ranch/coastal… I made sure to incorporate some simple fall touches throughout. I wanted it to all flow together, so simple was best! I joined my sweet friend Krista at The Happy Housie as part of her Seasonal Simplicity Tour.
For me, that meant fewer pumpkins and more stems, textures and color tones. To start… I added some pampas grass throughout. This is such a great compliment to fall.
I traded out all my green stems for muted colored ones. I had these faux dried looking florals from last year and was excited to use them again. They work really well with all the neutrals in our home.
I am still working on this little cabinet area in the family room, but I loved the look of the moody colors in the pottery and solid hues in the painting.
Same with pillows… I brought out lots of browns and earthy colors.
You may notice my plaid blanket jumping from room to room lately ;). This was a Christmas gift from my Dad last year and I just can’t decide where it should ultimately land.
There are some more things we are adding to this room and I can’t wait to share soon… But until then, things are slowly coming together here and we are so grateful for this home of ours.
Here you can see our surfboard, this makes me so happy (as I have shared, we are about 15 minutes from the beach and I really wanted this home to reflect that). Yet, fall and the beach can go hand in hand, as I thoughtfully bring things in to this family room.
Then across the family room is our informal dining room off of the kitchen.
You will see some more pampas grass here. I find that the simplicity of a kitchen towel and dishes looks so beautiful on a kitchen table. It makes things feel lived in and charming…
It really doesn’t take much to make your home feel like fall…
